Privacy Policy

Nitshield ("Nitshield", "we", "us") provides a job posting scam scanner, resume builder, ATS checker, cover letter generator and interview preparation tools at this website. This policy explains what data we collect when you use those tools, how we use it and the choices you have.

Account data. If you create an account, we store your name, email address and authentication credentials through our authentication provider (Supabase). We never store your password in plain text.

Content you submit. Job posting text or links you paste into the scam scanner, resumes and cover letters you upload or build, and interview practice answers you enter.

Contact messages. When you use the contact form, we store your name, email, selected topic and message so our team can reply.

Analytics data. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) collects aggregated usage information such as pages viewed, referring source, approximate region, language, device and browser type, and a randomly generated visitor/session identifier. We do not send your name, email, resume content or scan text to Google Analytics.

Device and log data. Standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected automatically for security and to keep the service running reliably.

• To run the scam scanner, resume builder, ATS checker and related tools.
• To create and secure your account.
• To respond to support requests and scam reports sent through the contact form.
• To improve our fraud-signal detection using aggregated, de-identified patterns.
• To meet legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse of the service.
• To understand, in aggregate, which pages and tools people use so we can prioritise improvements — this is the only purpose of our analytics data, and it is never used to profile you or to serve advertising.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use resumes or scan submissions to train third-party models. Nitshield does not use artificial intelligence; its tools run on documented, rule-based checks.

Nitshield’s own processing. We operate the tools, your account, saved documents and the contact inbox, and we decide what is collected and why. Our tools run on documented, rule-based checks; Nitshield does not use artificial intelligence and does not use your resumes or scan submissions to train third-party models.

Hosting and database provider. Supabase provides our authentication and PostgreSQL database hosting. Your account record, saved resumes, saved scans and contact messages are stored there, protected by row-level security so each account can only reach its own rows. Supabase processes this data on our instructions only.

Analytics provider. Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) processes the analytics data described above, and only when you have accepted analytics cookies. Data may be processed outside your country under Google’s own safeguards.

Advertising providers. If advertising services are enabled on this website, the advertising provider acts under its own privacy policy for the data it collects through advertising cookies and similar technologies. See section 6 below.

We may disclose information if required by law or to investigate suspected fraud or abuse of the platform. We do not sell your personal information.

Nitshield uses essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your theme and store drafts of your work. These are always active because the site cannot function without them.

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) are optional. The GA4 script is only loaded after you choose “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. If you choose “Essential only”, no GA4 script, cookie or request is created.

Advertising cookies are not currently active on this website. If advertising services are enabled in future, the cookie settings and our Cookie Policy will be updated to describe what is actually used.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the cookie settings link, also available in the footer. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.

Nitshield may use third-party advertising services, including Google advertising services, when advertising is enabled on this website. Advertising is not currently running on Nitshield; this section explains what would apply when advertising services are enabled, so that there are no surprises.

Where advertising services are enabled, the advertising provider may use cookies, device identifiers or similar technologies for purposes such as:

• delivering advertisements to this website;
• measuring advertising performance and reporting in aggregate;
• limiting how often the same advertisement is shown to you;
• personalising advertisements where this is permitted; and
• detecting invalid activity, fraud and security abuse.

Advertising practices can depend on your location, the law that applies to you, the consent choices you make, your browser or device settings, and how the advertising service is configured. In some regions, advertisements may be limited to non-personalised advertising unless you consent to more.

Advertising providers act under their own privacy policies for data they collect through these technologies, and Nitshield does not receive your resume content, scan text, account credentials or contact messages back from them. We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.

• Cookie and advertising preferences. Choose “Essential only” or accept analytics in the cookie banner, and change your decision later from cookie settings in the footer. If advertising services are enabled in future and consent is required, it will be requested and managed through the same controls.
• Browser controls. You can block or delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or clear site data in your browser. Blocking essential cookies may sign you out or break parts of the site.
• Using tools without an account. You can scan a posting without signing up, and you can delete resumes, cover letters and saved scans you no longer want us to hold.
• Contacting us. You can send a privacy request at any time — see section 12.

• Account data is kept while your account is active, and deleted when you close it or ask us to remove it.
• Resumes, cover letters and saved scans are kept until you delete them or delete your account. Drafts stored in your browser are removed when you clear your browser storage.
• Contact messages are retained only as long as needed to resolve your request and keep a record of abuse reports.
• Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for up to 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.

To request deletion of your account and associated data, email nitshield@gmail.com or use the contact form. We action verified deletion requests within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data, from your profile page or by contacting us.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Export your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw analytics consent at any time from the cookie settings, with no effect on the rest of the site.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and complain to your data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, reach out through the contact page and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Nitshield is intended for job seekers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date above.
